WHAT MAKES GATLIN BAPTIST CHURCH
A UNIQUE PLACE?

In the 1500's, the Protestant Reformers developed five Latin phrases
to summarize the essentials of biblical Christianity:

SOLA SCRIPTURA
Scripture alone rules our faith and practice.

SOLA GRATIA
Grace alone is how we are saved.

SOLA FIDE
Faith alone is how we receive God's grace.

SOLUS CHRISTUS
Christ alone is the object of our faith.

SOLI DEO GLORIA
The glory of God alone is our desire.

A commitment to these biblical principles identifies who we are. It anchors us to the past, gives us direction for today, and sets our course for the future.
